Peer Reviewing Manuscripts with AI

Dear Scholar,

A recent study found that 17% of peer reviews were done using language models. The number increased the closer to the deadline for which the manuscript was submitted. The problem with that approach is that it constitutes a breach of confidentiality. In today's article, we look into why you should not use AI for peer reviews and how you should use AI for your manuscripts.

The best use cases are not on the side of reviewers but on the side of the authors. GPT's newest models are much better at reasoning and hallucinating references rarely, making them ideal as peer-reviewers and sparing partners for your finished manuscript. This is a simple and easy way to spot gaps in your manuscript and make reviewer's lives easier!
